Switch & Data, a colocation and hosting company, settles law suit for 3 million. The original claim was for more, when the complaint

“sought $29.7 million in damages for the alleged breach of a lease at a colocation facility in West Palm Beach.”

Giving customers what they need

Here’s an interesting article about the customer support challenges facing any web hosting company. It isn’t easy.

“…customers expect 100% uptime, all of the disk space and bandwidth included with their plans, and enough processing power to do whatever they need with their website.”

This all started from somebody complaining that their $9.95 a month shared hosting plan from Dreamhost. From what I gather, they had so much traffic that Dreamhost shut them down. It sounds like a perfect reason to upgrade to a dedicated server from ServePath.
